Life Through My Eyes

In the fall of 2007, Together with the Children (TWC) launched a photography project with the market-working children of JUCONI in which we provided the children digital cameras, taught them basic photography skills and encouraged them to record their daily lives. Thanks to support from Bread for the Journey of Denver, we were able to give the children high-quality cameras and design an eight-week educational and therapeutic curriculum for the 22 children who participated in the project. Life Through My Eyes culminated in the final selection of 20 photographs to be professionally printed and mounted, with help from local printer Picture This Superior, for display in the Denver area this winter.

• The photos were displayed at Tenn Street Coffee in December 2007
• In January 2008, they were at Cafe Europa
• In March 2008, the photos were on display at CapuVino
• In April 2008, they were on display at Taza de Cafe
• In September 2010, they were on display for First Friday at Su Teatro
• In April 2011, they were at our party at Absinthe House

We have selected eight photographs from Life Through My Eyes and have made them available as notecards. Each card is blank on the inside and has information about the image and child photographer on the back. Support the children of JUCONI by purchasing a pack of cards today.
